Senior Planner – Major Infrastructure Programme

A leading organisation in the utilities sector is seeking a Senior Planner to drive the scheduling and programme control of a transformative 5-year capital investment initiative. This programme is set to quadruple the scale of previous efforts, reshaping infrastructure across the North West and delivering long-term sustainability and regional impact.

The role:

Develop and manage optimised schedules at both project and contractor work package levels.
Monitor progress against baselines, identify risks, and implement proactive solutions.
Control the critical path and prioritise activities to maintain delivery momentum.
Evaluate the impact of trends and changes, ensuring timely updates to programme baselines.
Lead forecasting processes and facilitate regular reviews across all work breakdown structures.
Review and refine construction methodologies and site logistics for efficiency.
Support the resolution of contractor claims and disputes through schedule analysis.
Ensure contractor programmes align with strategic objectives and comply with integrated planning standards.

Required:

Proven experience in programme controls, planning, and scheduling within large-scale infrastructure or capital projects.
Strong understanding of design and build techniques, with the ability to develop detailed construction programmes from the ground up.
Expertise in project planning methodologies and integrated project controls.
Strong experience in Primavera (P6) (required).
Experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder programmes.
Previous experience in Water, Construction, Rail, Energy (highy desirable).
