Cyber Security Programme Manager

Berkshire 90K - 100K Permanent

We are partnering with an organisation that provides essential water and wastewater services, supporting customers, communities and the environment. As part of the critical national infrastructure sector, it operates in a complex environment where service continuity, resilience and security are vital. Its focus is on strengthening its services for the future while meeting the challenges of today.

In this role, you will contribute to improving the organisation’s cyber security approach and helping it manage risk across a broad range of technology and operational environments.

What the job entails

As Cyber Security Programme Manager, you will lead and strengthen a significant cyber transformation programme, bringing structure, prioritisation and effective governance to a complex portfolio of initiatives. You will work across cyber, digital, operational technology and business teams, translating security risks into clear business impacts and decisions. You will establish and maintain programme plans, budgets, reporting and governance, with robust oversight of risks, issues, dependencies and change control. Working closely with senior stakeholders, including security leadership, you will align competing priorities, support informed decisions and keep delivery focused on the most critical risks and outcomes.

You will also oversee suppliers and security partners, ensure that audit and regulatory actions are addressed, and lead a small team of project managers. The role calls for a pragmatic approach: strong enough to provide accountability and control, yet adaptable as cyber priorities evolve.

Key requirements / What they are looking for
  • Significant experience delivering complex cyber security programmes or major technology projects in a large enterprise.
  • Strong programme governance, financial, risk, change-control and supplier-management skills.
  • Able to explain technical cyber risks in terms of business impact and priorities, and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with cyber teams and frameworks such as CAF, NIS, CIS Controls, ISO 27001 or NIST.
  • Experience in regulated environments; IT and OT exposure is valuable.
  • Programme management qualifications such as PRINCE2 and SAFe, Scrum Master or equivalent.
Package Details
  • Salary range: £90,000–£100,000.
  • Additional package information indicates an annual bonus of approximately 15–20% and a car allowance of just under £6,000.
  • Further benefits information: [N/A].

If you are an individual who has a demonstrable background both in digital and technology delivery whilst having a strong understanding of Cyber security principles such as CAF, NIS, eCAf or equivalent then this represents an exciting opportunity to drive delivery of a significant programme of work which has Board level oversight. Please apply now if you feel the role resonates with you.
