PMO Manager

A leading Financial Services organisation is looking for a strong PMO Manager to join their Change team reporting into the Head of Change. The PMO manager will play an integral role in defining, implementing, monitoring and reporting against a robust governance and controls framework for managing change. They will be offered excellent exposure and a remit to work with autonomy and an opportunity to support and develop a team of Project Managers to deliver change management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver project charters, confirming goals and objectives
  • Estimate project sizing, timelines, resource requirements and dependencies
  • Assess project risk, listing problems and chance of deviance, impact and mitigants
  • Create work plans, confirming detailed schedules of activities, milestones and deliverables
  • Collect project status information, including performance against plans, issues and change control
  • Analysis of progress against the baseline
  • Report project/programme progress, incl. in flight and the wider pipeline of change
  • Centralised customer focused office that plans, negotiates and analyses projects, and redresses project related concerns
  • Develop a team of competent project managers to deliver the Change Management methodologies
  • Ensure obligations in line with GDPR, FCA and associated regulators are met

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Experience managing a PMO using structured methods (Experience implementing a PMO will be a benefit)
  • Experience maintaining complex project, programme or portfolio plans
  • Excellent ability to present information verbally and visually using a variety of tools
  • Demonstrate ability to develop, prepare and improve all project documentation to support and engage stakeholders (internal and external) understand key aspects of the project or programme e.g. roadmaps, plans on a page, highlight reports, RAID reports, capacity plans, dependency matrix and budget controls;
  • Ability to champion the reason and benefits of a well-controlled and governed change management process across all levels of an organisation
  • Experience of using MS Excel and MS Visio to manipulate data for analysis and reporting
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • The ability to work in a complex environment in which judgement, confidentiality and discretion need to be exercised
  • The ability to prioritise own workload and deliver against demanding deadlines
  • Self-motivation drive and determination to delivery results
  • Certified project, programme and portfolio management qualifications are an advantage
