PMO Lead

A global business information organization is seeking a PMO Lead on a permanent basis, responsible for the management of the Technology PMO across Programme Governance, management and control, RAID management, Change Control, Configuration management, Communications and the necessary financial controls in order to deliver required outputs on time and to quality. This is an exciting opportunity to work for a globally recognised company in a fast paced environment. You will be expected interact with a wide variation of teams and stakeholders, acting as a key figure in the transformation function reporting directly to a Director.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be the principle point of contact for the PMO function across the Marketing and Sales division
  • Own and manage the programme framework and methodologies and assist Project Management
  • Develop the governance, standards and the framework, including the detailed deliverables at each stage of the project lifecycle and its inter-relationship with all the existing methodologies
  • Support the PMO Manager in defining and implementing the Programme Management Office disciplines for the successful delivery of the overall programme
  • Manage, assure and track the programme schedule plan and resource needs, ensuring any resource needs are identified and input into the programme demand management process
  • Manage, assure and track the programme output including; RAID, action, decision logs, ongoing metrics and analysis, managing work orders/invoices/expenses, lessons learnt
  • Act as a first point of contact for any program management queries within the programme
  • Translate project specific challenges / decisions / requests into business language for senior stakeholders
  • Oversee and report on portfolio progress to achieve agreed objectives, outcomes, key performance metrics and portfolio, programme and project management approach
  • Ensure the right people are doing the right things at the right time for the portfolio to be delivered
  • Identify portfolio and programme level trends in process, governance, cost, procurement and operating model and make recommendations to improve efficiency and / or consistency
  • Troubleshoot portfolio and programme level issues and work with stakeholders to identify and implement robust resolutions
  • Manage and mitigate portfolio risk and report as necessary
  • Capture best practice and innovation to ensure the PMO function continuously improves and can accommodate the business' growth and strategic initiatives

You Will Have

  • Previous experience in a PMO role on a complex programme
  • Strong understanding of programme management methods and tools
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, ability to work with project teams and senior directors to drive value of PMO function and ensure stakeholders are accountable and updated
  • Experience managing and tracking programme plans for large global programmes
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Programmes (Project, Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint)
  • Understanding of programme/project management best practice, terminology, tools and techniques
  • Previous experience working with transformation programme
